Tech Made Simple

what is email marketing?

Email marketing, also known a newsletter, is a simple yet effective way to stay connected with your audience. For example, you might send a weekly or bi-weekly email to your email list, sharing helpful tips, updates, or promotions. These emails can go to your entire list or just a specific group, depending on your goals.

Email Marketing

I’ve worked with a variety of email marketing platforms, and Flodesk stands out as the most intuitive, simple, and beautifully designed option by far. It makes creating stunning, on-brand emails effortless, even if you’re not tech-savvy, and it doesn’t overwhelm you with unnecessary features.

Flodesk Setup: Add On Service

If setting up Flodesk feels overwhelming or you simply don’t the capacity right noow, I offer Flodesk setup as an add-on package to seamlessly integrate email marketing with your new website and get you started with beautifully designed, on-brand emails.

Unlike emails sent through your regular email or a CRM (Customer Relationship Management like HoneyBook), which are tied to individual client interactions, email marketing focuses on reaching a larger audience to keep your business top of mind. It’s a proactive way to nurture relationships, build trust, and remind people of the value you offer—making it an essential tool to connect with both current and potential customers.

how is email marketing the same as a crm?

If you're not already using an email marketing platform, now is the perfect time to get started - I'll  be able to connect it to your new site. By connecting it to your site, you can automate email collection from interested site visitors, nurture leads, deliver a freebie or lead magnet (more on that later).

Getting Started with Email Marketing Integration

Free Option

If you're looking for a free email marketing option, MailChimp is a decent starting point with basic tools to get you going, though its design and user experience are more limited compared to platforms like Flodesk.

When someone subscribes to receive your free resource, email marketing allows you to automatically deliver the lead magnet / free guide send a series of follow-up emails, known as a nurture sequence.

delivering a lead magnet / freebie

Not everyone who lands on your website will be ready to book. Offering a lead magnet or freebie is a great way to keep track of interested people and stay in touch with them for the future. Don’t worry—it’s a totally consensual way of keeping track of people- like exchanging numbers, not lurking around with binoculars!

Simply put, a lead magnet is a free and valuable offer that your audience signs up to receive via your email list. Typically, the free guide or resource is delivered automatically through email marketing software, making it seamless for both you and your audience.

Delivering a freebie through email marketing software allows you to automatically follow up with people after they sign up, using what’s called a nurture sequence. This is a series of pre-written emails sent over time to build trust, provide value, and guide them toward your paid offers or services. It’s a hands-off way to stay connected while keeping your audience engaged.

If you’re not using email marketing software, I can set up a workaround to deliver your lead magnet, but you'll have to manually keep track of email addresses and is not the most ideal or efficient solution, but can be a temporary option to help you get started. We can discuss which option you prefer during your kick-off call.

A contact form on your website allows visitors to easily send messages or inquiries, typically including fields like name, email, subject, and a message box. It simplifies communication and ensures you don’t miss any important messages. While I can create a manual form, it’s best if you set one up in your CRM and send me the embed code, so I can connect it directly to your site.

The benefit of connecting your contact form to your CRM is that it keeps all your leads in one place. Instead of manually sorting through emails or lists, the form submissions go straight into your CRM, making it easier to manage, follow up, and track potential clients or customers.

Contact Forms / CRMS

what will you need to connect my contact form to my new site?

I'll need your embed code to get everything set up. Check out this video to get a better idea of what I'll need from you.

i'M NOT ALREADY USING A CRM, WHICH ONES DO YOU RECCOMEND?

If you're not already using a CRM, I recommend HoneyBook as a great option for managing your leads, projects, sending invoices, contracts, and client communications. However, if you work in the medical field, you’ll need a specialized ERM like JaneApp, which is HIPAA-compliant to ensure privacy and security. Keep in mind that not all CRMs/ERMs offer contact forms that can be embedded into your website, so you’ll need to do some research to find the right one for your needs. Learn more about the benefits of CRMs here.

A Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy are required if you're collecting personal data or selling anything online. While there's not a ton of enforcement, having them on your site just makes you look more professional and trustworthy, plus it helps protect both you and your visitors.

You can find free Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy templates online, but they can be a bit sketchy or not tailored to your specific needs. I recommend using The Contract Shop for a reliable option, but feel free to shop around or contact your lawyer to make sure you’re fully covered and compliant.

Domain Names

A domain name is the web address that people use to access your website, like www..artisankind.com.  Domain names typically cost around $15 per year. If you don’t already have one, you can easily purchase it at NameCheap.com. Learn more about selecting the right domain name here. If you already own a domain, it can remain with your current provider. I'll collect your domain name login information when the time comes and I'll connect your domain name to your new site at launch time.

Email

A custom email address, like aubre@artisankind.com, is less likely to land in someone’s junk folder and looks much more professional than a free one like artisankind@gmail.com. If you don’t have one yet, now’s the perfect time to set it up. I recommend Google Workspace, which works just like Gmail so it's easy to use, and inexpensive at $7/month.
