While the  steps above give you a strong starting point, SEO is a long-haul game. To kickstart the process, it’s important that you get set up on Google with a Google Business Profile, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console. And don’t forget—actually driving traffic to your site through your audience and marketing efforts is crucial for building trust with Google and seeing results over time!

I suggest you set up your Google Business Profile, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console when we begin the launch process, or after launch, ensuring everything is ready to start building momentum as your website goes live.

Please prepare two photos for your blog and upload them to our Shared Google Drive before our call. One photo should be just a regular image, and the other should be a Pinterest-sized image featuring the first photo along with the blog title. If you're unsure how to create a Pinterest-sized image, I've got you covered! Here’s a link to some free Pinterest Pin templates on Canva that you can use.

Before our Showit Tour, go ahead and write your first blog post and drop it in a new folder in our Shared Google Drive. During the tour, I’ll walk you through how to post it on your site. Not sure where to start with your blog? No worries! Check out this helpful blog post: How to Start Blogging for Business Growth and Slow Living. It’s full of tips for brainstorming ideas and includes a simple outline to guide you as you write. If you don't have a blog ready before our Showit Tour, no worries! I'll use some placeholder content as an example to show you how to use your blog.

I’ll guide you through accessing your new blog during your Showit tour. Just so you know, your blog will only be accessible once your new website is live.

how do i access my new blog?

Starting a blog can feel overwhelming, but it's a great way to grow your business and connect with your audience. This blog post will walk you through brainstorming topics, creating a posting schedule, and provide you with an outline to write your first blog.

i'm new to blogging, how do i write a blog?

Blogging and email marketing are both powerful ways to connect with your audience, but they serve different purposes. Blogging focuses on creating evergreen content—timeless, valuable information that lives on your website, boosts SEO, and draws people in through search engines. Email marketing, on the other hand, delivers messages directly to your subscribers’ inboxes to nurture relationships, share updates, and drive engagement (and does not directly boost SEO).

The beauty of these two tools is that they can complement each other. Blog posts can be repurposed into email content and vice versa, as long as the content is evergreen—meaning it stays relevant and useful over time. For example, a blog post might explore timeless tips or how-to guides, while a short-term sale or promotion (which is not evergreen) is better suited for email marketing. Together, blogging and email marketing can help you engage your audience in meaningful, strategic ways.

is blogging the same as email marketing?

If you're currently blogging on WordPress or Squarespace, Showit will transfer your blog over to your new website during the website launch process.

If you're currently blogging on a different platform, I suggest reaching out to them and asking how you can back up your blog content prior to launching your new site. I'll walk you though how to manually re-post your blog content once your new website is live during your Showit Tour.

what if i already have a blog?

Blogging is one of the best ways to boost your SEO over time because it helps keep your website fresh and full of useful content. Search engines like Google love when websites answer the questions people are searching for, and every blog post you write is a chance to show off your expertise and connect with your ideal audience. The more you publish, the more Google starts to see your site as a trusted resource. Over time, this can help your website climb higher in search results, bring in more traffic, and keep your business front and center for the long run!

how does blogging help with seo?

Blogging is all about sharing helpful, interesting, or inspiring content with your audience through your website. Think of each blog post as a little conversation where you get to share your expertise, answer questions, or tell stories that connect with your readers. It’s also a great way to show off what you know and build trust with your audience. The best part? Blog posts are evergreen content, meaning they can continue working for you long after they’re published—drawing in new readers and potential clients over time.

Post Launch Support

Post-launch website support officially begins the day I launch your website! During your 7-day or 14-day post-launch period (depending on your website package), we can take care of any minor tweaks, like fixing broken links or ensuring buttons work properly. Just keep in mind, post-launch support doesn't cover adding new pages, sections, or reworking content (unless there’s a typo).

Showit Tour

After I launch your website we'll sit down for your Showit Tour. I walk through how to access your new site, upload and swap photos, change text, update links, and preview and publish those changes.

During this recorded call, we will also review accessing your blog and blogging best practices (if you choose to include a blog in your Showit subscription).
